Venice Carnival
The Venice Carnival is an important Venetian celebration, a mix of tradition, spectacle, history placed in a unique city.

The Carnival of Venice has ancient origins, it is a celebration that greets the passing of winter and welcomes the spring.
The Carnival officially began in 1296, when the Senate of the Republic authorized the carnival with an edict.
After a break of almost two centuries, the traditions of the carnival were recovered in 1980 by the Municipality and since then the carnival is held each year with success.
The Carnival has a different theme each year. For about two weeks St. Mark's Square, the theaters, streets and public buildings become the protagonists of numerous shows: actors , dancers, acrobats bring a special atmosphere to the city for a few days. The atmosphere is similar to that of the 17th century.
